In rare occurrences, a single attendee has more than one account using different contact information. This could mean that one account has a work cell phone number while the other account contains a personal cell phone number. We suggest merging these two accounts so the attendee has one place containing all of their event history and associated transactions. To learn how to merge two accounts, follow the below steps or view the attached video walk through below.
Merging Two Accounts
1. Navigate to the 'Supporters' tab and locate one of the attendee's accounts. After doing so, click into their name, as pictured below.
2. For this example, we will be merging John's two accounts. To begin the process, click into the attendee's name and locate the field you are looking to update. For this example, we will be locating the "Phone Number" field and entering in John's preferred mobile number.
*Please Note: If the attendee's preferred phone number or email is not affiliated with a secondary account, the system will allow you to save without merging.
3. Now that we have entered in John's preferred number and clicked the blue "Save" button, shown below, the system will prompt you to begin the process of merging these two accounts, since the phone number is already part of a separate account.
4. To continue to merge these two accounts, click "Merge."
5. Next, you will be provided a list of both profiles and their affiliated information shown below.
6. There are 6 total attributes that need to be selected. These attributes are listed below:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Phone Number
- Email Address
- Address
- Pay Source
*Please Note: To proceed, you will need to select one box for each attribute. If an attribute lists "None" for both, you will need to select one to proceed. If one attribute lists "None" for both profiles, it does not matter which checkbox you select, as long as one is selected.
To proceed, check the profile attributes you would like John's profile to contain.
7. Once the preferred profile information has been selected, click the blue "Confirm and Merge" button.
*Please Note: This action can not be reversed.
8. After doing so, you will be prompted to confirm that you would like to continue. To complete the process of merging, click "Yes." This will complete the process of merging and re-open the new profile that contains only the selected, merged data, pictured below.
