Automated Messages for Attendees
In this lesson, you will learn how attendees actively interacting with the platform will receive automated messages before, during, or after your event. These messages are intended to prompt action or deliver information.
Join Attendee
Before an event or during check-in, an event administrator can “Join Attendee” to link an attendee to the event. You can access the "Join Attendee" capability from either the 'Supporters' tab or the 'Attendees' tab. This feature will add this person as an attendee, but NOT as a ticket holder.
When an attendee has been added via the "Join Attendee" feature, they will receive one of the two following default messages:
No account created: “Welcome to the [event name]. Thank you for supporting this event! Please reply with your first and last name or click the link to register: [registration link].”
Account previously created: “Welcome to the [event name]. Thank you for supporting this event! For a list of all items click [item link].”
Create Attendee
If an attendee does not have an Event.Gives account, but wants to participate in the event activities such as raffles, auctions, etc., they will need to create one upon check-in. We suggest having an event administrator use the "Join Attendee" link, but be aware that some attendees may need more assistance. In that case, an administrator can assist them further by using the "Create Attendee" capability rather than the "Join Attendee" feature from either the 'Supporters' tab or the 'Attendees' tab.
This will prompt the administrator to enter the attendee's first name, last name, mobile phone #, and email. Once entered, click the "Create Attendee" button and it will send the attendee the "Create Attendee" default message.

Bidding
During a live or silent auction, the attendees are kept informed of their bidding status in real-time with the following default text messages:
Highest Bidder: “Congratulations! You currently have the highest bid at $XXX for the [item name]. Reply ‘delete bid’ within 3 minutes if this is incorrect.”
Outbid: “You were outbid on [item name]! To increase your bid click [items link].”
Won Item: “Congratulations! You had the winning bid of $XXX for the item name [item name] [item #].
