Questions your Attendees may have

Please see below for a list of frequently asked questions and answers that you can copy and paste into your Event Description or send out ahead of your event to your attendees. Please note that each time the answers below mention event.gives/KEYWORD or event.gives/KEYWORD/items, you will want to replace KEYWORD with the specific keyword for your event.

1. How do I get onto the event?
You can navigate to the event site at event.gives/KEYWORD. If it is a live event, then you will see a Start Event button to watch the virtual live event. We have a helpdesk article here if you would like to use it for further instructions to send to your attendees.

2. How do I look at the auction items?
You can view the auction items at event.gives/KEYWORD/items or by navigating to the event site, event.gives/KEYWORD and selecting View Items.

3. Can I bid on Auction Items prior to the event? Post event?
You can bid on silent auction items by navigating to the items, https://event.gives/KEYWORD/items, selecting the item that you're interested in bidding on, and selecting the blue bid icon. If your silent auction is being held after the virtual live event, attendees can continue to follow this process until you close the event for bidding.

4. I can’t seem to log on, what do I do?
If you need assistance with retrieving your password, you can easily have a PIN sent to your mobile number or email to restore your account. If you are needing further assistance please feel free to reach out to support@event.gives. We also have a great YouTube video here that you can send to your attendees if you like to send them for further assistance. 

5. How do I place a bid?
You can bid on silent auction items by navigating to the items, event.gives/KEYWORD/items , selecting the item that you're interested in bidding on and selecting the blue bid icon. We've included a helpdesk article here if you would like to use it for further instructions to send to your attendees.

6. How do I give a donation?
Donations can be placed at event.gives/KEYWORD by clicking on the Donate Now Banner. If you are hosting a live event, attendees can donate by placing a donation during the program by selecting the donation button that will appear on the event site.

7. How do I participate in the live auction?
You can participate in the live auction by going to https://event.gives/KEYWORD and selecting the Start Event button. When the auction begins, you will see a button on the screen with the amount the auctioneer will be asking for. To bid, select the dollar amount on the screen and click Confirm or Confirm Anonymously to place your bid for the item.

8.   What happens if I accidentally bid too much?
If you accidentally bid too much on a silent auction item you do have 3 minutes to remove the donation via text or on the event site, event.gives/KEYWORD/items where the donation was placed. If it has been longer than 3 minutes, please contact event support at support@event.gives or the event organizer to assist you further.
