Terminology on Event.Gives
- Template- A message can be printed as a letter (PDF), emailed directly to your supporters, or added as an email step within your sequence.
- Sequence- Event.Gives custom email sequences are series of automated emails that are sent to your audience in a specific order over a set period of time.
- Blast Message- A customizable SMS message you are able to send to your supporters.
- Pledge- An unpaid donation.
- Supporter-A person who interacts with your event by placing a bid, making a purchase, etc...
- Checkin-The process of redeeming a supporter’s ticket to mark them as in attendance.
- Checkout- Assisting supporters with paying for any unpaid items and/or donations remaining in their cart.
- Magic Link- A link that skips the login process for the supporter.
Buttons on Event.Gives
As you navigate the manager portal, you will come across many buttons. It's helpful to familiarize yourself with these common buttons since they will help as you progress through the manager portal with ease and set up your event site as efficiently as possible.
Pictured below are some common buttons that you can use to enhance your experience within the platform.

| View Event Site | While you edit your event site through the manager portal, you can always click "View Event Site" to see what your supporters are seeing. | |
| Ellipses | Click this button to bring up more actions. | |
| Bulk Actions | Re-order items, select all, close items, publish items, send messages, etc. with multiple items or supporters selected. | |
| Event Actions | Event actions will remain at the top righthand of the page as you navigate through the manager portal. This button will prompt a dropdown that allows you to view and export reports, view the event site, turn on paper mode, and jump to your digital display. | |
| Communication & Cart | These two buttons will appear when you open a supporter's account profile. The message bubble icon will allow you to direct message this supporter, including sending them magic login links, ticket links, and cart links via either email or text. The shopping cart icon will allow you to open up a supporter's cart to view items they have purchased or need to finish purchasing. From here, you are able to charge their card on file and see what items/donations have been purchased. | |
| Filter | This allows you to narrow down your search by selecting the options you would like to filter. | |
| Search Bar | While this is not exactly a "button," the search bar is a great tool found throughout the manager portal that you can use to search for item winners, donation pledges, table assignments, etc. |
