Knowing how to market your event site can be a daunting task! The first step is always to share your event site URL on websites and social media channels that your donor base is familiar with. If you haven't already, check out our article on linking your event site to your organization's website, here.
After linking your event site URL on your organization's website, it is time to share on your available social media channels!
Sharing Your Event Site URL On Facebook, LinkedIn, & Twitter
The first step to sharing your event site on socials is copying your event site link. You can copy your event site URL directly from your event site landing page or from the 'Event Settings' tab on the manager portal. Both examples showing where to locate this URL are shown below:
Next, you will paste this link as a post or status for your favorite social media platforms. This will populate a clickable "card" that gives your attendees a quick idea of date, time, event title, and more, seen below. By clicking this "card," it will take attendees directly to your event site.
Sharing A Specific Event URL On Your Social Media
We always suggest pushing items that are not getting as many bids or purchases during your event. For example, if you have a silent auction item that is at the bottom of your items page and does not have nearly as many bids, we would first suggest re-ordering your items so that this item is at the top of the items page. Next, we would suggest sharing a link to this specific item on your social channels to increase bids/item purchases.
To do so, you will simply navigate to the item or donation page and copy the URL, shown below:
You will then paste this URL, similar to the steps above, into your desired social media channel. It will appear similar to the event site "card," however, it will display information related to the page/item you are sharing. Sharing specific links such as the raffle ticket example below can be a great way to increase event site traffic and ensure that all items meet reserve.
