How to Embed Helpful Links
If you would like to embed the link on your website use the following instructions to create a specific link for your event site.
- Open your HTML editor and navigate to the section of your webpage where you want the link to appear.
- Use the anchor tag <a> to define the link, specifying the URL within the href attribute. For example, <a href="https://event.gives/[yourkeywordhere]">Link Text</a>.
- Replace "https://event.gives/[yourkeywordhere]" with the actual URL you want to link to and "Link Text" with the text you want to display for the link, i.e. Gala 2024.
- Save your changes and preview your webpage to ensure the link works properly.
Locating your Event Site URL
First, you will locate the 'Event Details' in the Manager Portal. Under this, you will see your "Event Keyword" and event site URL, shown below:
Create Direct Links to Event Site
Another method that helps increase overall event revenue and event traffic, in addition to linking your event site, is utilizing direct links. A direct link is a link that goes to a specific page. For example, you could have a direct link to your donation page in order to give supporters a quick and seamless way to donate from your organization's website!
A great way to increase your ticket sales for your event is to begin with creating a direct link to purchase tickets. By adding “buytickets” to the end of your event site URL, this will direct your supporters directly to the ticketing portion of your event site. Include this direct link on your organization’s website with a “Purchase Tickets” text to help guide your supporters to the right place making the process that much easier!
In order to locate the URL of your items page or donation page you will first go to your event site. From here you can click on either view items or make a donation.
Once you are on that page, you will copy and paste that exact URL in order to create a direct link on your organization’s website. Refer to the screenshot below for the items page URL and the donation page URL.

Other helpful links that we have seen increase overall event revenue are to link directly to specific items, like a raffle item or a vote-to-donate item.
In order to link a specific item you will first navigate to the “Items” tab on the manager portal. Next, find the item you would like to create a direct link for and click the three dots for more actions. From here select “View Item Page."
