When your event has concluded and you view your Payout Report, you might notice a payment balance that does not equal out to zero. Depending on whether the balance is positive or negative will determine if you owe money to Event.Gives or if Event.Gives owes additional money to you. Please see below for an explanation of how payout balances are determined.
There is logic built into our payout report and it is constantly trying to balance the event balance to even final payout, meaning there is no event balance or charge once you have accepted the last transaction. With that said, after each transaction or refund, the system reconciles based on the payout balance.
Due to cash transactions or refunds, this can cause the payout balance to change and then the logic built into our system will charge fees more or less based on the current payout balance to get that number to 0. If you owe us money at the time of a transaction, the system will charge more to get that payout number to 0. If we owe you money, the system will charge less in fees to get that payout balance to 0. You can see the breakout per transaction by viewing the payout balance column.
